Eczema, Psoriasis, Contact Dermatitis and Skin allergy testing
Rashes can occur as a result of our genetics, underlying medical conditions, environmental causes or a combination of the above. Eczema or "atopic dermatitis," psoriasis, and allergic contact dermatitis are three types of rashes that can be characterized by red, itchy, flakey skin. Patch testing is an in-office procedure that identifies if you are ingredients in personal care products (i.e. detergents, lotions, shampoos, hair dye, nail polish, etc.). A shopping list of "safe" products can then be provided to ensure nothing you are using at-home is irritating your skin. The use of prescription products, in-office procedures as needed, and an at-home skincare regimen can help patients suffering from eczema, psoriasis, allergic contact dermatitis, and other rashes experience symptom relief and clear skin.
